With its rounded body, upright handle, and sharply angled spout, Karavi named after the Greek word for “boat” recalls the silhouettes of seafaring vessels and age-old pouring rituals. The piece feels both ancient and immediate, hand-built in terracotta clay with a matte, fire-kissed finish that captures the nuances of the kiln.
Intended as a sculptural object, Karavibalances function and form. The long spout and generous handle suggest movement and direction, like a sail in wind or the gesture of offering. Its surface is unglazed and expressive, bearing darkened traces of natural oxidation that make each piece unique.
Material:Clay Finish: Hand painted coloured matte finish, raw clay brown not waterproof Dimensions: 27cm H x 30cm W - 3.3kg Care: Decorative use only for raw clay version. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. All matt colour works watertight. Custom colours available upon request.
